Fur Information
Your fur should be stored in a certified Cold Storage Vault during the summer. Not only will this keep your furs’ pelts supple and extent their life, it will protect them from insects (i.e. moths, silverfish). LaBelle’s vault will maintain the proper temperature and humidity levels at all times.
Have your fur professionally cleaned at least every other year. Fur attracts dust particles whether it’s hanging in the closet or being worn. The professionals at LaBelle’s know how to clean your fur so the lustre-oils remain in the pelts to keep them supple and soft.
Any repairs of your furs should be taken care of immediately. Small repairs may become major problems if not attended to.
Always hang your fur on a padded or wide hanger. If the fur gets damp from rain or snow, hang it in an airy room to dry. NEVER apply heat.
Don’t cover your fur with plastic or vinyl as this will dry out the pelts prematurely. You can use a cotton or silk cover as these materials allow the fur to breath. All new furs from LaBelle’s come with a breathable cover made especially for furs.
